Technical Difficulties

So does anyone know anyone who knows anything about making animated .gifs?  *hopeful smile*

I'm working on a series of meta that would greatly benefit from embedded pictures that move (you know, to show zoomy, swirly camera angles and stuff).  Caps just don't cut it and making and embedding YouTube clips are cumbersome.
